Simple, effective technical analysis by Jim Sinclair

Jim Sinclair is a veteran in futures and currencies trading and gold mining. He is my guru for gold and trading/technical analysis. He has been successful in gold investments and trading in the previous gold cycle. Having experience in at least one full cycle is very important to me. I want my guru to be able to excel in bull market and to survive in the bear market. Mr. Sinclair has demonstrated his abilities in the past gold cycle and it seems he is doing it again in this gold cycle. His methodology involves trend lines, Fibonacci retracement lines, MACD, Momentum, %R, Stochastic and french curves. For a short desciption of his methodology, click here. The simplest one is trend lines. I think everyone can see a trend line. It is also amazing how price behaves around Fibonacci retracement lines. Since Mr. Sinclair seldom uses volume information, I use his methodology on funds as well. His 1/3 rule also helps in money/risk management. In short, his methodology is simple and effective.
